About Me
John is a professional forester and natural resource manager, with an associate’s degree from the SUNY Ranger School and both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Forest Management from SUNY ESF. He has been working in this field since 2001, with experience in both forestry consulting and procurement forestry. As a consulting forester, John works with landowners to meet their management objectives, including wildlife habitat improvement, timber production, and enhancement of recreational opportunities. With his wife Valerie, he owns and operates Benchmark Forest & Land Management, LLC, serving landowners in eastern New York State. John is intimately familiar with all aspects of recreational and timber investment properties and brings his knowledge and passion for both to the sellers and buyers he represents for Timberland Realty. John enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters in the outdoors, fishing, riding mountain bikes, cross-country skiing, and exploring the Adirondacks and beyond.
